All we heard today as went went around town is how much people were shocked over the amount of wind we had over the past day and a half. No one had ever heard it so bad, and many experienced real fear. The winds clocked in at one point over 150 kms in the village and over 190 on the hills. Thankfully no one was hurt and there were really only minor damages. We're just glad it's over, and hope to never have it here that bad again.
Above is a shot of one house whose roof was coming off. The family had to evacuate. You will see a close up of the roof below.
Above a shot of some one's "coach box". It's used to haul wood etc with a snowmobile . Wonder who lost it? It blew up against this hydro pole, luckily not causing anyone more damage.
Above is anpother shot of a home in Blanc Sablon. The family had moved out only a month ago.
Another home where the siding ripped off like paper.
Colinda's van, the back and driver side windows were both smashed from flying debris.
Marty's truck, which also lost the back wondow.
Marty and Colinda's home, siding and the 2 windows lost.
Above is a shot of a few men helping Marty try to repair some of the damage done to his fishing boat.
A shot of the house we used to live in in Brador. Note also the shed behind it, completely destroyed. A family lives there, yes! Telva Earl and her hubby Leon Lavallee and their daughter Madison.
